Some May 2012 events...
Ashlyn's last 8th grade band and choir concert. Ashlyn has been involved since 5th grade and has been with this same group of kids that she has just really loved and adored. She was a sobbing mess at the concert and couldn't stop crying thinking that her days at Franklin were over. She loves Mrs. Just who is over the music program at Franklin and is an amazing teacher! We just love her!
Mom's Birthday dinner at Cafe Rio. Here she is surrounded by a bunch of her grandchildren that absolutely adore her! They think Grandma Sugar is the bomb! Happy Birthday, Mom. We love you!
Lauryn won the "Math Wars" challenge for the entire 3rd grade at Franklin (that's over 100 kiddos competing.) Way to go, Lauryn! She had to orally give the answers to 50 math multiplication problems. She did it in 38 seconds. She definitely has a "math brain" and Mike and I are trying to figure out where she got it because it wasn't from us. ha ha Here is Lauryn with our principal, Mr. Lee.

We have been swimming alot this summer (thanks to our wonderful neighbors who have a way cool pool we call "Loar-Land.") The girls love to go swimming and Brynlyn taught herself how to swim this summer. It was so neat to watch her progress on her own from the beginning of summer to the end. She is a pro now! Here is Bryn and Madelyn jumping off of the rock waterfall and diving board.
Go Higley Freshmen Football and Cheer! Last night was their first game of the season and they won. Way to go, guys! Ashlyn called the cheers and had a ball cheering at the game. They have worked so hard to get ready for this first game and they did a great job. It was a great start to a great season!
For Katelyn's 12th birthday, it was a week long celebration! Happy Birthday, Kates! We love you and we're so glad you are in our family.
The Beehives "heart attacked" our door to welcome Katelyn into the Young Women's program at church.
Since cousin Rinsley and Katelyn share close birthdays, we love having bday parties at Granda and Papa's house with them together. Rinsley turned 14 years old. Happy Birthday, Rins! Good luck at your ice skating competition in NYC next month!
And for the grand finale...we took a bunch of Katelyn's BFF's to NYPD Pizza for lunch, followed by a visit to the local gourmet cupcake shop (so fun), and then shopping at the Dollar Tree, followed by swimming in the Loar-Land Swimming Pool. It was a great party and Katelyn loved having her besties nearby all day long.
Today marks the beginning of another school year. Where does the time fly off to? It's hard to imagine that I am sending off my baby girl to high school! And another to 6th grade...4th grade...and 1st grade.... They are growing up wayyy too fast for me. This is what the first day of school was like around our house...

On Saturday the girls had their music performance for the music class they take from Jenee Wright Prince. They love this class and look forward to it every week. They will have a few week break then go back for the fun summer session. Lookin' good girls! Of course we had to follow the performance with lunch at Cafe Rio. Yummmmm.....
