FHE at the Lake

So here you go. More pictures of another lake trip. If you are wondering why I post so many lake pictures, it's because each trip is different and unique in its own way and there are always stories I have to share. This is of our latest trip last night, for Monday Night Family Home Evening. We headed up to Canyon Lake. It was really fun because we took the Rob and Jenn Pickles Family, the Derek Rudd family also joined us on their boat and we saw the Nivla Hatch family (consisting of 3 boats) having their own FHE. The lake was fairly empty, the weather wasn't too hot by the time we got up there, and the water felt really nice. We had another great trip. These are some of our highlights!

Katelyn, Brooke and Lauryn getting ready for a fun tubing ride.

Camryn, Lauryn, and Ashlyn gearing up to be dumped on a wild and crazy ride!

Lauryn throwin' down the peace sign.

Brooke is just soaking it all in and loving every minute of it.

Camryn, Katelyn, and Ashlyn are hanging on for their lives on the tube.

Ashlyn, Gracie, Lauryn, Katelyn, Camryn and Brooke taking their last tube ride while being pulled back to the launching dock. Sadly, it's time to go home!

Taylor Rudd is doing a back flip off of his boat. Check out that cool mid-air shot!

All of the kids were exploring the beach and shoreline along the lake at our picnic spot.

Swim Team

A Day in the Life of the girls on Swim Team...

Ashlyn's team is lining up for their swim meet.
Ashlyn getting a good start off the block.
Ashlyn is working hard on her butterfly stroke. (She doesn't like this stroke so much!)
Ashlyn and her good friend Kamrie. They are on opposite teams and were swimming against each other today. They were so happy to see each other at the meet.
All of the girls at their meet.

Swim Team

Katelyn's team is lining up for their turn in the swim meet.
Katelyn getting ready to jump off the block. Swimmers ready...On your mark...
Go! She takes a flying leap off the block...
Katelyn is swimming the butterfly stroke as fast as she possibly can.
Lauryn is simply exhausted after swimming her two strokes in the meet. "Mom, can we go home now???"

Ashlyn and Atlyn

Ashlyn and Atlyn: two friends hanging out together on a summer day. A day does not go by that Ashlyn doesn't talk to Atlyn atleast 10 times on the phone. They are such great friends.

Canyon Lake Trip

Making the long drive to Canyon Lake. The girls find that their CD players come in very handy. (Mom and Dad think so too!)

Tubing in front of "The Cliffs of Insanity" (name that movie!)

Enjoying dinner on the dock. Chicken salad sandwiches. Yummm...

Tubing Fanatics! These kids are die-hard about tubing.

Swimming in the lake and cleaning up the lake debris. Yikes!

Science Museum

Our friend Tonya took the girls and some friends to the Science Museum to see the new Prince Caspian display and exhibit. They all had a really great time and brought home some cool souvenirs to show for it. Then they went to Red Robin to eat for dinner. Yum! They also had a fun time hanging out with Jakob, Seamus, and Kyle Newton.

Cute shots of Bryn

Brynlyn's lookin' so cool

I couldn't resist these pictures! Brynlyn was feeling "so cool" when she was wearing her shades. And I think she looked pretty cool also. Imagine how cute these scrapbook pages will be! =)

Ashlyn's hurt foot

Ashlyn was playing in the pool on Saturday and she tripped and rolled her ankle. She was in alot of pain so we iced her foot, doped her up on Motrin and made her lay on the couch all day. Mike eventually got her a pair of crutches so she could hobble around the house.

This was the look on her face when I told her that I was going to have to take her to the ER and get an x-ray if her foot didn't feel any better. She made a miraculous recovery and we're happy to report that she is crutch-free and enjoying a healed foot. =)

All American Girls: scrapbook layout

Every Christmas we give my Mom a scrapbooked calendar of the year. Each of the sisters and sister-in-laws divide up the months and sign up for the months they want to scrapbook. I was in charge of the July layout and missed the Christmas deadline. So my new deadline was July 1st and here are the results of Mom's calendar layout. Happy Independence Day!

Father's Day

Mike and his Dad, Farrell, on Father's Day!

The girls are eating dinner with cousin Marcus Flitton from Utah.

Mike and Marcus sharing a hug.

Me and Marcus capturing a photo op!

We really enjoyed our visit with Aunt Candy and cousin Marcus. We don't see them nearly enough and we always have a fun time when they're here.

Brynlyn's First Trip to the Lake

Brynlyn was so much fun at the lake! She was loving almost every minute of it. She soaked in the new adventure like an old boating pro. She loved hanging out in the front seat, listening to Dad's ipod, eating grapes, and laughing at the big girls jumping into the lake. She's a Boating Buddy for sure.
