Lake Powell

In late June, we were invited to go up to Lake Powell with Chris and Krista Wright and their family to stay on their houseboat. We were so excited to go, and then the week before, I threw my back out and I was flat on my couch for that week. I didn't want to risk hurting it more than it already was because when it was time to leave, I was just barely starting to get up and walk around by myself. SO...Mike took the older 3 girls to go and play and I stayed home with Brynlyn.

These are a few of the pictures that Mike took while they were up there. They had SUCH a great time. The Wrights are incredible hosts and they helped the girls feel so welcome on their boat. Thanks guys!!! Next time, I'm coming with because I'm not about to miss that party again. =)

Breanna and Dallas

While we were in California, my niece Breanna got engaged to her boyfriend, Dallas. Wahoo! We had the chance to meet him and get to know Dallas a bit and he is such a great guy with a wonderful sense of humor. And he completely adores Breanna and just loves her dearly. We are thrilled for them and wish them the absolute best in life. We are looking forward to their fall wedding. Congratulations guys!

We just got back from a quick weekend trip over to Southern California. We went with Mike's parents, sister Kim and son Jakob, and sister Julie and her husband Jeff and their kids Breanna (and boyfriend Dallas), Devin, and Brandon. Something super exciting happened while we were over there: Dallas proposed to Breanna!!! It was so much fun to be there and be a part of that momentous event in her life.

We took in some sights at Newport Beach, Balboa Island, Newport Beach Temple, and Disneyland, of course! Aside from the toilet overflowing in our hotel room causing us to move rooms mid-trip, 85,000 people at Disneyland which equates to long lines (aka 90 minute wait for Space Mountain) and then my camera breaking at Disneyland (at the beginning of the day of course), all in all, it was a good trip.

More mopping. The water was flowing out of the bathroom and onto the carpet. There was atleast an inch deep layer of water. Yuck!

Summer Movie Fun

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is to go to the Summer Movies. It's so inexpensive and they are always movies that the kids have already seen before, but they love to see them again, and it's INSIDE with A/C which makes it all the better especially when we're water logged and it's 110 degrees outside. And they are just so happy with a bag of popcorn, a drink and some snacks. These kids are easy to please! =)
