Bompa's Funeral Pictures

These are a few of my favorites from Bompa's funeral. The whole program was so beautiful and so touching. I do have to say that the graveside service was one of the neatest, inspirational and heartwarming things I have seen in a long time. I know that's an odd thing to say about a funeral, but it was neat! They had 2 armed servicemen present the flag to Bompa's family. The precision and respect that was used to fold the flag and present it to the family was just an amazing thing to witness. And there was a bugel player that played "Taps." And they even had a horse drawn carriage carry Bompa's casket from one side of the cemetary to his final resting place. It was a beautiful sight to see most of his great-grandsons walking behind the carriage. Then the tear jerker came when Uncle Noel and his brothers sang a beautiful medley of songs to Bompa, accompanied by one brother playing the guitar. The final song they sang was "Happy Trails" to Bompa. Ah! It was so beautiful and I know Bompa was loving every moment of this wonderful tribute to his life.

Slade, Mike, Ammon and Zach placing their bouteniers on top of the casket
The grave marker of precious babies whose lives ended too soon: Bompa and Nana's daughter Maralyn Kay nicknamed "Suzie" and Jeff and Julie's daughter Chelsea. Precious!!!
Many of the great-grandsons (also pall bearers) in front of the casket
Thayne, Farrell, and Mike. This picture makes me sad and happy at the same time because Thayne has been away for a while and I haven't seen him with his Dad and brother for over a year and so it warms my heart to see him with his best friends again. Thayne, we miss you!
Beautiful Tribute: Horse-drawn carriage. This is Bompa to a T!!!
Ashlyn and Rinsley observing the service.
Thayne and Rinsley. They haven't seen each other in over a year and so their meeting was extra special and heartwarming for everyone to see.
